Rip Off Report www.ripoffreport.com -- Fraud and Theft by Jaguar Central, Mike Cummins, Cheryl Cummins

http://www.ripoffreport.com/Auto-Dealer-Repairs/Jaguar-Central-Inc-J/jaguar-central-inc-jaguar-ce-bbe22.htm

Jaguar Central Inc., Jaguar Central Corona, Mike Cummins, Cheryl Cummins, Cheryl Koop-Cummins, I bought 3 cars. He never delivered them and I never saw my money ! Riverside, California

Mike and Cheryl Cummins sweet-talked me to buy 3 classic cars (jaguar, Bentley and MErcedez). He was suppose to restaure the cars and sell them in auctions. We were supposed to split profits.  I gave him $100,000 in CASH.  8 months later, I still don't have my cars  (he only showed me pictures of them) and I never saw my money again. When I phone him, he either don't pickup, or has 1,000 excuses why it is taking so long.  My next step will be to buy a gun and take care of busines myself.

Mike Cummins, Jaguar Central Inc., Jaguar Central Corona, Cheryl Cummins, Cheryl Koop Cummins Do not do business with this company, they make promises to do work, take money, do not perform agreed work, then take major parts off you car. major nightmare! Ontario, California

Jaguar Central Inc., Mike Cummins, Cheryl Cummins, Cheryl Koop-Cummins have made a practice of making agreements to do work, collect money & do not perform agreed work. When I finally got tired of the false promises and lack of performance and tried to get my cars back I discovered I had lost many of their good parts (in my case a 2 page list including original tool roll, jack, convertible top, side curtains, original tri carbs, gearbox, etc. etc.). The cars are a real mess. I not only have paid for work not done but now have incomplete cars. The work that was done is poor quality. Mike Cummins has done this to several people that I am aware of.

I also loaned him an original paint chip book, as I have done to many people in the hobby as a favor to be able and get an accurate match on paint. He promised to return it...over... and over... and over...but never did! This book is now NOT available to others in the hobby. He has not only robbed a rare item from me but robbed others in the hobby of a valuable resource. Mike and Cheryl are absolutely the worst people I have dealt with in over 30 years in the hobby/business!

Jaguar Central Inc. has a well earned "F" rating (their lowest rating) with The Better Business Bureau. Their description for this rating is:

"We strongly question the company's reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law's licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, or the company's industry is known for its fraudulent business practices".

Jaguar Central Inc. Bought Classic Jaguar for 62,500, flew in inspector to inspect car, Jaguar Central agrees on a list of items he will take care of, car is delivered with 75% not done, refuses to make good. Ontario California

*UPDATE by author:... greed is running jaguar central

I entered into an agreement with Jaguar Central (Cailifornia)(Mike Cummings)to purchase a restored 1974 Jaguar E-Type Car. Part of the agreement was that I would have myself, or an inspector check the car before it was shipped to me in Florida. When JC said the car was ready for inspection I flew a gentleman in from Nevada who owns two of these cars and if very familiar. My inspector inspected the car and reported some items on the car that needed to be taken care of. Mike Cummings and my inspector signed the list of items to be rectifed before delivery. Mike Cummings assured me the list would be completed before delivery, but he would need about one week to complete the list. I then wired payment for the car in full.

About one week later before the pickup occured I asked Mike Cummings , Is everything on the list complete, he replied the list is done. Mike Cumings was also to inlcude with the shipment of the car the original bumpers and overriders that I had paid for seperate from the car.

When the car arrived to me in Jupiter FL, the car would not even run. 75% of the items on the list had not been completed. This included A/C not working, car not charging due to bad alternator. I contacted Mike Cummings, he told me to stop whining, that he would make good on the parts, but not the labor to make the situation right. I said send me the parts, but that the labor also should be covered. To date he refuses to send any parts to me, or take care of the labor. It cost me 3100.00 for the repairs.

Tom Krefetz Story -- $100,000+ Misrepresentation/Fraud by Jaguar Central, Mike Cummins, Cheryl Cummins

1. 1956 Jaguar XK-140

I purchased a 1956 Jaguar XK-140 MC OTS, VIN# S812887 from Jaguar Central (Mike Cummins and Cheryl Cummins) on June 26, 2007. Per the agreement, the vehicle was to be restored to Show level condition and to Jaguar standards. I provided payment of $50,000.00 to purchase the vehicle and begin the restoration process.

Over the span of many months, I made numerous attempts to communicate with Mike and Cheryl Cummins and asked for a report of progress and photographs of the vehicle. They did not respond. On April 11, 2008 I sent a demand letter to Cummins for either a refund of monies or to return the car to me. They did not respond.

On April 30, 2008 I personally went to Jaguar Central with my trailer to retrieve my 1956 Jaguar XK-140 MC OTS. Although no restoration work had been started, Cummins demanded additional payment to take my car. I paid $3,706.00 and took a car that was not complete and had many missing important parts. Cummins signed an agreement to provide all missing parts to me. I provided a written list of the missing parts to Mike Cummins. Cummins has of yet to return the missing parts. I paid a total of $50,000.00. The car I retrieved was worth a maximum of $10,000.00, damages totaling $40,000.00 for the difference in the value of the vehicle, plus $100,000.00 to replace all missing parts, repair bodywork, and re-do the faulty work that was done by Jaguar Central.

2. 1960 Porsche 356 Cabriolet

I purchased a 1960 Porsche 356B Cabriolet, VIN# 152976 from Jaguar Central (Mike Cummins and Cheryl Cummins) on June 25, 2007. Per the signed agreement, the vehicle was to be restored to Show level condition and to Porsche standards. I provided payment of $40,000.00 to purchase the vehicle and begin the restoration process.

Over the span of many months, I made numerous attempts to communicate with Mike and Cheryl Cummins and asked for a report of progress and photos of the vehicle. He did not respond. On April 10, 2008, I sent a demand letter to Cummins requesting him to return the car to me. They did not respond. On October 31, 2008 Cummins requested further funds toward the restoration work in the amount of $5,000.00.

On April 30, 2008 I personally went to Jaguar Central with my trailer to retrieve my 1960 Porsche 356B Cabriolet. Upon retrieving my 1960 Porsche 356B Cabriolet, I took a car that was not complete and had many missing parts. Cummins signed an agreement to provide all missing parts to me. I provided a written list of the missing parts to Mike Cummins. Cummins has of yet to return the missing parts. I paid a total of $56,206.00. The car I retrieved was worth $7-10,000.00, damages totaling $46,206.00-$49,206.00 for the difference in the value of the vehicle, plus $75,000.00 to replace all missing parts, repair bodywork and re-do faulty work that was done by Jaguar Central.

$200,000+ Fraud -- Claus Aaroe's Story RE: Jaguar Central, Mike Cummins, Cheryl Cummins -- www.directory.pe.com

See http://directory.pe.com/jaguar+central.9.1671487p.home.html

I purchased 3 cars from Jaguar Central/Mike and cherylCummins May 2007 - may 2008. Cars were to be fully restored to concurs condition in 4-6 months. Paid US$220,000 total. Jaguar Central/Mike Cummins did not restore any of the cars per our agreement. After 2 years+, I demanded return of the 3 cars, found them to be in junk condition, worth no more than US$20,000 for all three.  jaguar central refuses to hand over original parts for my cars.

Mike Cummins told me he was a certified JCNA judge. Mike Cummins told me he was a premier restoration expert in the Jaguar community and a highly respected by JCNA in the USA. Mike Cummins told me he had restored 100 point cars and won numerous awards at JCNA sanctioned events.I checked an found the standings on the JCNApages. Based on this impressive starting point, I entered into contracts with Jaguar Central/Mike Cummins. (assuming, that no club would allow crooked members operating via their "name".

I have since learned Mike Cummins is not/has never been a certified JCNA judge. I have since learned Mike Cummins has committed fraud and theft to at least 5 additional people in the Jaguar community -- totaling more than $500,000 in damages. I have since learned the car Mike Cummins claimed received 100 points at JCNA sanctioned events was not owned by Mike Cummins, in fact, Cummins did not even restore the car, it was restored by another restoration facility in Wisconsin. This is the reason for my posting on the JCNA site. I do not want to see anyone else in the Jaguar community injured by Jaguar Central or Mike Cummins.

I am 56 years old, retired, had to mortgage my home to purchase the 3 cars, thought I could bring the cars to Denmark to keep 1 and resell 2 and make a few dollars. I am now in danger of losing my home due to the misrepresentation and fraud committed by Jaguar Central and Mike Cummins. By the way, Mike uses his wife Cheryl Cummins (Cheryl Koop-Cummins) as his 'front person'.

$100,000+ Misrepresentation and Theft -- Terry Larson's Story RE: Jaguar Central, Mike Cummins, Cheryl Cummins

Mike and Cheryl Cummins entered into an agreement with me to restore 2 XK140 roadsters to "99.6 JCNA standards". They assured me they had done many JCNA high point concours cars and were active, highly respected JCNA members. After 2 years of false promises, lack of performance & total aggrivation I gave up and got what was left of my 2 cars out of their shop. I had paid them $101,750.00.

What I got was one body in primer and the other body was sandblasted, badly rusted and in a pile barely rebuildable. They were both completely disassembled. Not only had very little been done for what was paid, but they also refused to return many major parts which were now "suddenly missing" from my cars. What WAS done was poor quality.

I have a 2 page list of missing items including some major parts like a convertible top bow assembly, side curtains, original tool roll, jacks & grease guns. They also refused to return new parts I purchased and had drop shipped to use on my car, they refused to pay me $1,874.48 they owe for parts they bought from me. They also refused to return an original paint chip book I loaned them to match paint on another car they were doing. I have many times, loaned this book to club members to insure they get the correct paint match. I will no longer be able to do this because of Mike and Cheryl Cummins.

Doctor Greg Johnson's Swindle from Jaguar Central, Mike Cummins

Well add me to the unhappy and swindled customers of Mike And Cheryl Cummins AKA Jaguar Central!!!!!!!!! I purchased a "perfet" Jaguar 1967 E-Type from Jaguar Central. When I finally received delivery of the car (4 months after I paid for a car that was represented as already done) I found 66 items not right or non-functional on the car. The car was immediately retured to Mike Cummins who then took 10 months to "fix those items." When I had the car deilevered the 2nd time I took it to the gas station to fill the empty fuel tank. As I filled the tank the gasoline ran out of the tank and into the trunk and then noto the pavement. Frankly we almost blew-up in a fire ball. The car went back to Cummins who "worked" on it for the next 9 months (most of the other origianl items were never fixed). While at Jaguar Central in Ontario, CA for repair, Mike and Cheryl Cummins took my car to JCNA sanctioned events -- without my knowledge and permission. The Cummins even used my car to shuttle potential customers (JCNA members) around town -- without my knowledge and permission. When I asked Cummins why my car was taking so long to fix, Cummins lied to me, stated he was waiting on some special order parts, my car could not be driven. Cummins used used me, my car and used JCNA to commit misrepresentation and fraud within the JCNA community. The items Cummins was supposed to fix never got resolved, however he did fix the leaky fuel tank. After 22 months from original purchase I had a tow truck remove the car from his shop and took it home. He was not working on it and I was concerned that he was robbing parts off of my car for other projects. The guy and his business practices are major bad news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Subject: Jaguar Central Inc.

Mr. Kennedy,

It is with great despair that I am writing to you today.  I did business with Jaguar Central Inc (AKA Mike & Cheryl Cummins). Here are their details :

535 S. Magnolia
Ontario, CA 91762
(909) 983-3040

The ONLY reason why I did business with them is because they said that they were Members of the Boards of Directors at JCNA.  Your organization is very reputable, and we believed they were part of it. They also told me that Cheryl (his wife) was a judge in many auctions, and that himself was also a judge.

He lured me into buying 3 cars from him : Rolls Royce Bentley 1956, Jaguar 1966, and a Mercedez 1964. I gave him $100,000 in CASH. Yes, he did give me a receipt.  He was supposed to restore them, and sell them in auctions (like Russo & Steele), and we were to split profits.  8 months later, I still don’t have the cars, and I still have not seen my money !

When I made a google search under “Jaguar Central Inc” I saw all the fraud and car theft reports made against them, and I couldn’t believe my eyes!  I thought that you should know that they use your name in order to lure poor victims.

Please, if there are anything that can be done against them, please go ahead and do it !

Thank you for talking the time to read my email.

Have a great day,

Sadly,

Craig and Karolyn Verville-Johnson

JCNA Jaguar Clubs of North America www.jcna.com -- Beware of Mike Cummins, Jaguar Central (aka RCM Restorations)

Mike Cummins is a con-man who uses JCNA (Jaguar Clubs of North America) to further his fraud and theft.  He made the following representations to me to establish his 'credentials' (reputation in the JCNA community):

1. He stated he was a JCNA certified judge. In fact, he told me Cheryl was also a judge.

2. I was at the Spanish Landing Event in San Diego 2 years ago, August 2007. Mike had a gray 150S he was showing in the Concours Class, told me he owned the car, had restored the car. The car won that day.

3. Mike Cummins told me he was a premier restoration expert in the JCNA community, appeared to know and be very friendly with the judges.

I have confirmed with JCNA that Mike Cummins is not and has never been a certified JCNA judge.  I was told by JCNA that Cheryl and Mike only served as assistants to certified judges at several events in the past.

I have also confirmed the 150S Cummins represented to be his and restored by him at the Spanish Landing event in 2007 was NOT his car -- nor was it restored by him.  I was told the car was taken to Cummins for servicing, when returned (to the real owner), there were several items switched and missing from the car. Priceless original accessories.

I have confirmed the actual owner of the car did not know Mike Cummins was 'showing' his car.  Mike Cummins fraudulently used a car that did not belong to Cummins, was not restored by Cummins -- making representations to JCNA that he (Cummins) did in fact own the car and had restored it.  Cummins took part in 3 JCNA sanctioned events in 2007, winning all 3 events in the concours class, the last event scoring a 'perfect' 100.  He now uses these 'trophies' as the basis for his standing and expertise in JCNA.

JCNA is now aware of the fraud and will hopefully be taking action soon.  Let's hope JCNA takes strong action against Jaguar Central, Mike Cummins, Cheryl Cummins, Cheryl Koop-Cummins.  Not allow the Cummins to continue to use JCNA sanctioned events to find new 'victims' to commit fraud and theft.

For details regarding many of the victims, their dealings with Jaguar Central/Cummins, the fraud/theft, go to http://www.jcna.com/forums/view.php?Vfnum=130&Vthread=4311&Vref=

Beware of Jaguar Central, Mike Cummins, Cheryl Cummins -- Do Not Do Business with this Company/People!

I have a very similar/exact story as david42581 of Jupiter, Florida. I entered an agreement with Jaguar Central (Mike Cummins) to purchase a fully/restored 1966 XKE in January 2007.

Car was delivered to me in June 2007. Mike Cummins and I went over an initial inspection of the car. Car was delivered with obvious problems. I could not drive the car because it would not hold a charge (obvious short in the electrical system). In addition, the front suspension not assembled correctly, there was a large oil leak at the pan, leak on clutch reservoir that caused damage to the paing (I was TOLD by Cummins Jags did NOT leak/seep any oil/fluids if put together properly like he did).

I told Cummins I would f/up with a detailed summary of items needing remedy (to be fixed) within 1-2 days by email. Cummins ASSURED me he would take care of any items I found. I was promised by Cummins that Jaguar Central was an honest family-owned company and all items would be completed to my satisfaction.

I did f/up by email with a detailed 'list' of 24 items needing to be fixed, some major, some minor. The car was sent to Jaguar Central 3 times over a 7 month period to remedy/fix the 'list' of 24 items.

The car was first sent to Jaguar Central one week after the initial delivery -- the car could not be driven. During the 7 weeks the car was at Jaguar Central, I would call Cummins once a week for a status. I was told each time the car was coming along fine and all items would be completed. Cummins told me he would drive the car 50 miles to ensure all items were completed/work out any problems.

After (Cummins) assured me all items had been completed, the car was returned to me. When I checked the car, I found not one item had been completed. I called and asked Cummins the obvious question -- what happened? He told me he was 'having employee problems'.

I encounted a similar set of events the second time the car was sent to Jaguar Central. A few items were completed. I was assured by Cummins the 'list' was completed. Test drive completed. No problems. Car was returned to me, I could still not drive because of the electrical and front end problems, 90% of my list not completed.

The third time the car was sent to Cummins to complete the 'list' was Oct 2007, I was told it would take about a week to complete all items. The week turned into 3+ months. Key items on the 'list' were never completed. Car was returned to me in Jan 2008, 75% of my list not completed. In fact, car was delivered with several nics on paint and a burr on the bonnet.

After 7 months of ongoing contradictory explanations, I ended my ordeal, realized Mike Cummins had no intention to complete my 'list'. Cost to complete my 'list' along with other items not properly done during the restoration was in excess of $15,000 -- front suspension had to be reassembled, electrical work had to be redone, paint blistering due to poor prep, repaint the bonnet...

Mike Cummins, Cheryl Cummins (aka Cheryl Koop-Cummins) are liars.  Thieves.  Have no morals.  Con-Man.  Con-Women.  BEWARE!  For a quick background summary check (victims) of Jaguar Central/Mike Cummins, here are some links:

I am starting this post to assist the 10+ victims of Jaguar Central, aka Jaguar Central Inc., Jaguar Central Corona, Mike Cummins, Cheryl Cummins.
